‘The Wakes community venue opened in 2017 and the facilities on offer have gone from strength to strength. Oakengates Town Council is proud of their building and the free community activities and events on offer.
Check out our Film Club at The Wakes or children and family events which are often free and very affordable.
We also have reasonably priced function, meeting & IT rooms, a free community arts & craft space & free Wi-Fi throughout the building. Forge cafe are open Monday through to Saturday, 9am – 3pm selling freshly prepared tea, coffee, cake and light lunches.’

Lovely atmosphere, everyone is so friendly. Nothing is to much trouble for the staff. I would highly recommend to friends and family.
